"Whatever I tell you in the dark, speak in the daylight; what is whispered in your ear, proclaim from the roof." Matthew 10:27 (NIV)

The Prophetic Lens

My wife and I were in a big, beautiful city. It looks like a European city for some reason. There were a lot of people just walking on the streets.  Everybody looks good and glamorous. Nobody was dressed casually.

My wife and I were coming up some long stairs to another street. The stairs took us to the end of a street. Folks were coming up and down the stairs. Everybody seemed polite. As I went up the stairs to my right, there was about 40 feet drop. The drop was the end of a street. The street had no cars, just people walking. No safety precautions were taken at the end of this street, nor were any signs indicating the end of the street or the 40-foot drop.

Folks seemed happy! Out of nowhere, as my wife and I were getting almost to the top of the stairs, we saw a middle-aged white woman running and screaming; she appeared frightened and jumped off from the top of the 40-foot drop. My first impression was that she was running from something. I took a few steps back on the stairs to see her. I could see her body face up; she seemed lifeless. People were yelling as a reaction to what just took place. My wife seemed calm, and I was surprised that, as a doctor, she did not go down to check on this woman.

But then, younger, and more middle-aged women came running to jump. They all seemed frightened. I attempted to do something about it; nobody else was doing anything but screaming, terrified of what was happening.

I decided to do something about it and tried to stop these women from killing themselves. I was desperate, confused, and frightened at the same time. As I tried to stop this middle-aged woman physically, I was not able to, and she jumped; I almost went down with her. I quickly realized this was a spiritual situation. I was committed to stopping them, but I started doing it in the name of Jesus.

I was able to stop some, but not all. Some passed right by me; there were so many. It was overwhelming at this time, and I was alone on this task. More white women were jumping than the amount I was able to stop.

Then I saw this handsome middle-aged black couple. They had bags with them like they did shopping in expensive stores. They both looked great, physically in great shape, and wore a black Adidas suit. I saw how something got a hold of them, and they were getting ready to jump. The black man was getting ready to jump first, and I went after him to stop him; he was the first man I saw. My intercession intensified. I was crying out, rebuking demons, asking Jesus for help, and preaching hope. I woke up while wrestling this black middle-aged man to stop him from jumping.

Are there any prophets out there? Who can give me the interpretation of this dream?

    Shalom, Angel and Rayette,

Thank you, Angel, for your blog post. I always appreciate the message. I started writing comments on your blog site, and it got too long. So I decided to reply to you via Email instead.

I have a question. Do you think that the beautiful city in your dream: is a representation of the heavenly new Jerusalem? OR the current superficial state of some churches? Someone once said that the devils could get comfortable in a clean, beautiful church building where everyone is dressed nicely and smiles at each other. On a surface, it is a perfect scene from a TV commercial. In these churches, nobody is made to take accountability or roll up their sleeves to work on cleansing their sins because their eyes were shielded by the work of the devil who sat among them. Oh how we wish we could ask Joseph to interpret your dream!

The end scene of your dream reminded me of last week’s Torah portion: Genesis 32:24 — “And Jacob was left alone. And a man wrestled with him until the breaking of the day.” Jacob would not quit until he received a blessing from this ‘being’ he was wrestling with. Your dream signified to me your strong faith in God and your deep desire to continue spread the Gospel.

Miss both of you, and our weekly Bible study. I started a small Bible study session with my friends (just three of us). As you have done for Martin and I in opening our eyes to the Words, I wanted God’s work you have taught us to continue trickling to people around me. I often talk about your Bible teaching. They both would love to meet you (virtually) someday.

May God bless you and your family always. Hannah
