It has been some time since I have written on this blog. There is a reason for it. My wife and I drive in, mostly traffic, to our jobs in Phoenix. At times, it takes us over an hour to get there. When I get home, I am exhausted. Writing comes easy for me, but it does take energy.
We are doing the best we can with our time together. I am speaking to my wife in Spanish, something she has wanted since our marriage. We also stop frequently to eat at restaurants and have little dates. No doubt that there is no other human being on this earth, I would rather spend time with than my wife. So that is a positive thing.
Our business, Wonderfully Med, is up and running. It is far from close for us to be able to make a living out of it, but we have a few clients who are giving us the beginning stages of what it looks like to allow Wonderfully Med to serve people as they seek wellness. We both have our total times jobs, obviously, but we dream of the day with can close our careers doing what we love the most, restoring people to wellness.
Sometimes, we look at other businesses, and their success may cause us to feel some way, but when I look at the fact that we are debt-free in our company and that our overhead is minimal… I quickly dismiss envy. I have been personally debt-free for close to six years. It was a more significant challenge for my wife; doctors always have large amounts of debt in student loans. However, God blessed us with seven years in Alaska, and Alaska was good to us. My wife has a house out of state that is only 14K away from being paid off.
The beautiful house we live in today is already paid off, as we bought it in cash with the money we received from the insurance after our Alaska Home burned down. God has a way of turning things for good for those who love him. We must enjoy the journey; we are not where we would like to be, but we are heading in that direction.
I continue to eat a low-carb, high-protein, and high-fat diet. The Carnivore and Keto approach to eating are my baseline. It has worked wonders in my life, and I am truly grateful. My glucose is, for the most part, under control. The mornings always give me the highest glucose number, but the numbers are normalized as the day goes by. I love this way of eating because I don’t always need to snake and usually eat twice a day. Never in my life would I have imagined eating this way. So even as I am tired when I get home at work, I am producing and energized; I can feel the mental clarity.
I am not doing any ministry. Currently, it is almost like I am on standby. I am finishing my master’s in Christian Counseling…, and I only have three more classes. I have much to share but feel disconnected from the institutionalized church. I tried to do the Home Church successfully for a couple of years, but it slowly dissolved. I am sure if God brings me disciples, I will teach them with open arms, but that is not happening right now… may be my fault, or maybe the Lord is closing those doors for now.
We are visiting a local church; we enjoy the music and teaching, but we have not connected or made any attempts to do so. I love to be able to teach God’s Word consistently, but that is not happening right now. I ask for God’s guidance and will do what He tells me.
