How do you know if someone is a Christian? We don’t have to guess the answer to this question. We don’t have to give anemic answers. Jesus told us in Matthew 7:15-20,
“Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves. 16 By their fruit, you will recognize them. Do people pick grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles? 17 Likewise, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit. 19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20 Thus, by their fruit, you will recognize them. (NIV)
Why are we allowing politicians to use us? Why are we even placing our hope on politicians? This is a very dark hour in our nation. We need leadership! There is no winning platform for true believers. If you oppose abortion, you are radical. You are accused of spreading hate if you oppose same-sex marriage or insist that God created us, male and female.
Strengthen the church, and let our gatherings be a mirror of what the New Testament tells us to be. Strengthen our government: Apostles, Elders, and Deacons. Disciple people according to the Word. Release the Body to use the God-given gifts. Preach the Gospel, not the water-down version, but the true gospel that requires repentance and believing, a gift that ONLY comes from God.
Our nation is in trouble, but God’s judgment does not start in our country but in the Body of Christ. The Apostle Peter tells us, “For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?” I Peter 4:17 (KJV) Stop looking at Trump… God rejected him because Trump rejected God first. The nature of politics is anti-God… there is no room for a Godly person in politics; there is no winning platform or formula. Change does not come through government; it comes through God.
Beloved, we must bear fruit… it is our duty as believers! Fall in love with Jesus and stop living without HIM… you need HIM; He loves you more than anybody. Galatians 5:22-25 tells us how to live, let’s live this way; is the fruit that we are called to bear… is the evidence that we are the sons and daughters of God.
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,23 Meekness, temperance: against such, there is no law.24 And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. (KJV)
