The Prophetic Lens

The valley of bad decisions!

Who is wise to escape?

In finances, in relationships, in agreements… bad decisions in display.

We will see them better tomorrow

when the fog of our emotions goes away,

when the consequences find their way.

Like a dark cloud regret follow us everywhere.

I think about that moment

and I wish I would have been elsewhere.

I wish I would have never run into him or,

I wish I would have never run into her.

I wish I would have never pursued that deal that left me in great despair.

But with exact precision the story repeats itself.

Over and over again, over and over again

we manage to hurt ourselves.

No matter where we start in the valley of bad decisions,

it always leads to pain.

Like an uncontrolled animal we show very little restraint.

We felt the intuition that something was not right,

we knew from the beginning that it was not the way of Christ.

But nothing could change our made-up minds.

Oh, the valley of bad decisions!

Who is wise to escape?

In finances, in relationships, in agreements… bad decisions in display.

“Wisdom shouts in the street, She raises her voice in the public square.”[1]

But foolishness is deep in our soul

and our will raises even more fanfare.
