Would You Allow Your Daughter to Marry a Black Man?

I heard a conversation among high school aged student that became an issue of concern for me. A few girls were having a casual conversation about marriage, dating, who to marry and who not to marry based on physical appearance. They were all predominately white! On the other side of the conversation was a young African-American male classmate. It is always fun to hear the amazing wisdom of teens on these kinds of matters… Right?

      The first kind of man that the girls threw under the bus was the short man. They established, very passionately, that a woman should not marry a man that is shorter than her. The black kid tried to argue against that but he was outnumbered.

      I asked myself, should I stop this mess now? But I felt like I needed to continue to listen to the amazing wisdom of these church going, Anglo, sweet sixteen aged girls.

      Then one girl stated that she will never marry or date a black man; she boldly expanded on her point of view and why, as she found that the other girls were in agreement with her. I said to myself: “Oh, Oh!!!!!” They all agreed that blacks should marry blacks and whites should marry whites. Now the black young man was really in trouble!

      At that point I decided to intervene. After all, I was the oldest one around, old enough to be each one of those kid’s father. I started by telling them that I understood that we all have our preferences, however, to reject another person because of the color of their skin is indeed, racism. That is when they told me, very plainly, that their parents would not accept a black man in that way…anyway. I told them that love has no color and that to establish that all races ought to stay with their own, when it came down to marriage, is a racist and offensive view, indeed.

      Martin Luther King gave his life trying to convince the establishment to “judge black people for the content of their character and not for the color of their skin.” The young girls proceeded to say that it was not racism, but just their opinion. It was indeed their opinion and, they have the right to have one, but this view is repulsive.

      Beloved, this just happened in May of 2013 among young people! I ended my speech by letting them know that I have four daughters and what I want for each one of my daughters is a godly man that would indeed love them and be willing to give his live for them. If those men are out there, in due time, I will be honored to call them my sons in law, no matter what the color of their skin or nationality is. I wonder if what I heard in this conversation is a representation of the culture of this region or just an isolated view? I just… I just wonder!

    I’m of Nordic descent. I could never be attracted to anyone but my own race, it was bred into me through my DNA. As a mother of 7 white children it was common to talk open about dating out of our race and my children knew how strongly my husband and I would forbid such a thing in my family. They all grew up to find mates of their own race, and went on to have beautiful blonde with blue eyed children.I feel very proud to be out in public with any of my grandchildren. There is nothing wrong with wanting the best.

      There is nothing wrong with having a preference, but to stop people to love outside of their race and to call any race better than others is arrogant, is racist and it is ignorant!

    To hell with that! I know it’s correct to “wish only love based on character” for your beloved daughters and sisters. But it keeps dsigusting me Black man / white woman, enraging me every time i think of it. And all those stories of aggressive blacks towards their wives..
    And your anti-racist views , trying to hammer it down down our minds. Makes me think :
    There is something fishy here, if Black male / White female marriage needs so much propaganda for changing opinions and tastes, while normal marriage need not ( because it’s the best, everyone knows it, no need to advertise), maybe it is something we ordinary people don’t want indeed.
    Maybe I have some insecurities of my own or I’m very racially aware ( if our white genes weren’t recessive to black I would be totaly fine) but im strongly against IR (BM/WF) relationships – or at least double standarts for the male there. And I would still be very hurt and angry at my daughter for her “betrayal”.

    What a conversation! It’s evident that the views are from one extreme to the other. Being a Black/Native American with European roots. I maybe leery of others that have judge me by my skin identification but doesn’t make me hate them or not want to associate with others that are different. I can’t afford to be prejudice or racist knowing my families lineage and history which I’m proud of or I wouldn’t be here. So glad that my family don’t have twisted views and I was able to marry whom I loved not base off race or culture. It’s a shame how people hate God’s people that he placed down here on earth from the beginning (Black Men) to multiply and be fruitful. None of us would be here if it wasn’t from his seed including Europeans. God’s task is being done as the human race is fulfilling prophecy which is spoken of in the Bible. All I can say is, we as humans don’t own this planet, it owns us and supports our lives that god gave us to be responsible for. Some are defeating the inevitable of “being mixed”. It may not be this generation but, it will be and hopefully we will live as one with many cultures and drowning out this dysfunctional color struck planet we live in now. We know that this hate comes from the one that came to kill, steal & destroy us. Open your hearts and minds people. God is love & he’s coming back for the pure at heart.

    White people need to value their race. There is nothing more sicking to the eye then seeing a beautiful blonde haired blue eye white woman throwing her genes away by having babies with any race but her own.

    The Pleiadians ( tall whites) better known as the Notrics colonized their race on earth over 250,000 years ago. They were told never to mix with other races because they were a lower life form.

    Not would I accept my daughter marrying or being with a Black man, I would encourage it. I now have granddaughters and I will do all I can to encourage them to be with Black men. Diversity is the future and the future starts now.
