“What other nation is so great as to have their gods near them the way the LORD our God is near us whenever we pray to him?” (Deuteronomy 4:7) (NIV)
I don’t know where you find yourself as you read these words; you may be in a season where you feel so close to God that you are able to sense His heartbeat. Good for you; good for you, indeed! However, you may be one who has not sensed His sweet presence in a while; and not only that, but you are going through a great deal of hardship. Some of your hardship is the result of demonic attacks, some are just normal issues of life and yet some others are the direct testing of the Lord. You find yourself in a spiritual and emotional desert that is keeping you dry and with a sense of abandonment. God is as close to you as your prayer life!
Many of us know, by own experiences, that when we are faced with tribulations, the first thing that we throw out the window is prayer. However, this verse challenges us with an amazing question: “What other nation is so great as to have their gods near them the way the LORD our God is near us whenever we pray to him?” It is not an accident that you are reading these words today…God is waiting; He is so close that you don’t even have to yell; you can whisper and He can hear…He is so close that He can actually listen to your heart. Beloved, there is no one closer!
